The Hb / Hp Complex is a visual immunochromatographic rapid test for the qualitative detection of human hemoglobin in stool samples. The test is intended for professional in vitro diagnostic use. The test was designed to provide evidence of disease in the colon area such as colon cancer and larger greater hemorrhoids.
The colon cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers and a leading cause of cancer death (Lieberman, 1994; MMWP, 1995).
By testing for occult blood in stool samples, colon cancer can be detected at an early stage and thus reduce the mortality rate (Dam et al, 1995;.. Miller, 1995, and Lang, 1996)
