The alcohol test strip is an enzymatic test for the rapid and sensitive detection of alcohol (ethanol) within urine. This test strip delivers a qualitative result, that shows if the sample contains alcohol or not.
The test detects ethanol at a concentration of 0.1‰ or 10 mg/dL, in which the colour field on the test strip will change to violet. The purple colour intensifies when a higher concentration of alcohol is present within the sample, a weaker shade of violet will appear at an alcohol concentration level of 0.1‰; a middle shade of violet will appear at a concentration middle valued concentration levels and a dark violet at a concentration level of about 3.0‰. We recommend that the colour test fields are to be interpreted only quantitatively because the the discernment of the human eye to perform a quantitative test can lead to errors.
